A couple had just booked me.
I asked how she found Precise Blend. I expected a venue, a planner, Instagram, or a friend.
Instead, her search was:
"Napa DJ who won't be cheesy."
ChatGPT put me first.
I laughed. Years of weddings had been cut down to three words: won't be cheesy.
Honestly? Fair.
A real search. A very clear request.
THE SEARCH MATTERED MORE THAN THE RANK
Being the top pick was nice. But her words told me more.
She did not ask for the DJ with the most gear. She did not ask for the longest song list. She wanted the night to feel like them, not like a wedding template.
"Cheesy" can mean many things. Too much microphone. A dance everyone hoped had retired. Fun that feels a little too organized.
The meaning changes from couple to couple. That is why I ask questions.
It is also more useful than, "We want everyone to have fun." Great goal. It is the wedding version of asking for good weather.
THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN
Another couple asked ChatGPT to help book a DJ or band for a Napa wedding.
Precise Blend stayed on the shortlist. This time, ChatGPT pointed to 45 reviews. It called out music choice and party feel.
The second search was broad. The reasons were specific.
That part meant more than the ranking.
Those reviews came from people who were in the room. ChatGPT was the very fast intern who found the file.
I can say I care about music. It is my website. I have the password. It carries more weight when past couples say it.
BEING FOUND IS NICE. BEING UNDERSTOOD IS BETTER.
I do not think AI can choose the perfect DJ. I do not think a list can do that either.
It can put a name on the shortlist. Then people still have to talk.
The encouraging part was not that ChatGPT knew my business name. It was what the recommendation picked up: the music, the room, and how the night felt.
That came from the work. Plan before the wedding. Read the room during it. Step up when needed. Step back when the moment belongs to someone else.
No grand DJ laws. Just lessons learned one wedding at a time.
AI CAN FIND THE ROOM. IT CANNOT READ IT.
I am not going to rewrite my whole website for a chatbot. That sounds like a lot, and I already have playlists.
I would rather keep doing the work. I can describe it honestly. Past couples can say what mattered to them.
If ChatGPT helps someone find that, great. The machine made the introduction. The rest is still human.
For now, it is nice to be recommended by a robot for trying not to act like one.
